Abhaneri
Abhaneri, located in the Dausa district of Rajasthan, is a historic town. This village is renowned for its ancient stepwell and the temple of Harshat Mata. One of the most remarkable features of Abhaneri is its Chand Baori. This stepwell was constructed in the 8th or 9th century and is among the most beautiful in India. It has three arms with steep stairs that descend nearly 100 feet. There are galleries on either side. It is believed to be haunted.
Adjacent to the stepwell is the temple of Harshat Mata. This temple is dedicated to the goddess of joy and happiness. The stepwell is surrounded by a palace at its base.
