Overview
The Chatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh is home to one of India’s most famous towns, Khajuraho. This famous city is noted for its temple complexes, sensuous sculptures, and pristine beauty. Scholars and tourists have been enthralled with the vibrant and intriguing frescoes for centuries. Khajuraho is a well-liked tourist site and one of India’s 14 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is situated in northeastern Madhya Pradesh and covers an area of around 20 square kilometers. These temples were built more than a thousand years ago, precisely between 950 and 1050 A.D., under the patronage of the Rajput Candela rulers. The beautiful fusion of architecture and sculpture at Khajuraho’s temples is well known. The entire temple structure is covered with intricate decorations and finely carved figures. Every part of the temple, including the ceiling, pillars, walls, and spire, is decorated with a different Hinduism-related motif.
